It's so sad that Steve passed away before the 40th reunion. He would have reveled in the get togethers. Steve's cajoling of the other members of the reunion committee is probably the reason the 35th reunion was held. Reunion planners turned us away, because they indicated 35th reunion were seldom successful. Well, they should not have turned down our class, because as we all know, we're an exceptional group, and the 35th was a success.

Steve may have had a premonition that he would not be around for the 40th. It's one of the reasons he was so proactive in arguing that we should hold a 35th. His presence was missed at the 40th reunion.

In 5th grade, Steve Lincoln & Tommy Johnston were such cut-ups in Mrs Fleisher's Science class, & continued their joking around by sitting together in Mr Martin's Science class in 6th grade too.  Really too bad that Steve is no longer with us anymore -he was a really funny guy who loved to clown around & make everyone laugh. May his memory be blessed.

"Linc" and I go way back to South/Central school days in Glencoe though we live on opposite sides of the track.

His zaniness endeared me right away and I found him always physically in splendid motion during those years. Regrettably, once we crossed the threshhold into high school, I lost both touch and contact with Steve and so many other Glencoe intimates from school days long gone. One final ember: during some peculiar transition from high school to college, I surrendipitously (sp?) bumped into Linc at the Edens Theater (the original) a favorite hang out of mine to indulge my move muscle. We gabbed with familiarity and I tucked away the thought of some kind of swinging adventure together, but, alas, that never materialized..........like two leaves blown off their parent tree just floating into mutual proximity for a "brief shining moment"

Good-bye, my dear Linc!

Larry (:
