Albert was my chemistry lab partner. The "A" we got that semester for our labs was entirely Albert's doing. He was incredibly brilliant. I am deeply sorrowful that I won't have an opportunity to thank him for pulling me along when we get together for reunion or get an update from him on his classic muscle car restoration.

Al Zisook was a very sweet guy. When I was a junior, he hung out at the Math study hall where one could seek help with one's math homework. Al taught me some beginning calculus (the algebra of the derivative). I remember well his obvious and awesome genius. He took math classes at Northwestern as he had tested out of all the high level classes at New Trier. When he taught, I thought I could detect his mind skipping over algebraic steps as he then went momentarily silent to back up for his more detailed explanation of the steps in the process for ordinary students like myself.

He had an elfin smile and I will not soon forget him.
