So grateful for my formative time in the Center for Self Directed Learning and all the amazing advantages offered a young person in Winnetka in those year.
School Story:

Went into the Center Junior and Senior years and actually finished all my credits half way through senior year and traveled around the US for six months before starting at Prescott College. I have back packed most major mountain ranges in the western US and a few in Canada. Worked for two years in a wilderness intervention program for troubled teens and later pursued a masters in Social Work in NYC where I also met my husband. Traveled around the world solo in 1986 and moved back to WA state in 87 with husband and raised two amazing children. Still in the same house we bought in 1991 and continue to work in nonprofits as an ED.

I remember John well.  He was funny and brillian.  I met him through Jim Butler I think.   So sad to hear of his passing.

Barbara and I spent a bit of time together in HS.  She was passionate about injustices and the war and animals.  I think she continued to pursue her passions into adulthood though we lost touch after HS mostly.  I connected with her o FB some time back and she had changed her name to Giraf and worked on animal causes.  She was a good person
